John G. Ambrose

John was born in January 1857 in Virginia.¹ John's father was Jacob Ambrose and his mother was Mary Caroline Touchstone. His paternal grandparents were John Bell Ambrose Sr and Elizabeth "Betsy" Crum. He had six brothers and a sister, named Hamilton, Henry, George, Edward, Thomas, William and Ann. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
