Laodicea, known as Dicey, was born on May 14th, 1766 in North Carolina.  Dicey's father was Solomon Langston and her mother was Sarah Bennett.  Her paternal grandparents were John Langston III and Mary Agnes Mangum; her maternal grandparents were Richard Bennett III and Anne. She had four brothers and five sisters, named James, Solomon, Henry, Hiram, Mary, Selah, Amy, Patty and Sarah.  She was the fourth oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 71 on May 23rd, 1837 in Traveler's Rest, Greenville, South Carolina.  She was buried in May 1837 in Traveler's Rest, Greenville, South Carolina.
