Abraham Medaris 
Abraham was born on May 19th, 1829 in Indiana. Abraham's father was James Davis Medaris and his mother was Levisa King. His paternal grandparents were Oliver Medaris and Wilmuth Redmond. He had eight brothers and a sister, named Jonathan, Ithamer, Riley, Salathiel, Massey, Stephen, Nathaniel, James and Teancy. He was the youngest of the ten children. He had a half-sister named Mary. He died at the age of 60 on August 5th, 1889 in Owen County, Indiana. He was buried in Pleasant Bethel Cemetery, Owen County, Indiana..General Notes
22 May 1849, Abraham bought 2 parcels of land from his father, James D. These two parcels are located in Jennings Township, Owen County, IN. These two parcels were sold on September 26, 1851. Elizabeth purchased land October 31, 1861 in Jefferson Township, Owen County, Indiana.
Zurilda C Medaris and Nathan D Medaris, children of Nathaniel Davis Medaris and Nancy Ann Rogers, lived with Abraham after the death of their mother.
