Franklin Elmore Medaris 
Franklin was born in October 1852 in LaPorte, Indiana. Franklin's father was William Salter Medaris and his mother was Elizabeth D Wickersham. His paternal grandparents were George Washington Medaris and Elizabeth Salter. He had six brothers and a sister, named Charles, John, James, William, Albert, Hiram and Mary. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 81 in 1933. He was buried in Pin Hook Cemetery, Laporte, Indiana.-
