David Ansley

David was born in April 1783 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. David's father was William Ansley and his mother was Sarah Strayhorn. His paternal grandparents were William Ansley and Rebecca Cox; his maternal grandfather was William Strayhorn. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Gilbert, Rebecca, William, Thomas, Jesse, Benjamin, Nancy, Samuel, Margaret and Sarah. He had five half-sisters named Winifred, Mary, Sarah, Louisa and Elizabeth.
