Fred Medaris 
Fred was born on February 12th, 1895 in Bloomington, Indiana. Fred's father was William Washington Medaris and his mother was Sarah Hummel. His paternal grandparents were Abraham Medaris and Sarah Elisabeth Bledsoe. He was an only child.General Notes
Fireman-engineer. Enlisted in U.S. Regular Army January 29, 1917, Bloomington, Ind. Trained at Columbus Barracks, Ohio; and Fort Michie, New York; assigned to 23rd Company, Coast Artillery Corps. Accidentally wounded Ft. Michie, New York; Discharged June 25, 1918. Died October 26, 1919, Bloomington, Indiana from effects of accidental wounds received while in service. Buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Survived by widow Inez Barlow Medearis, Albany, Indiana
