Geoffrey, known as the Fair, was born on August 24th, 1113 in Anjou, France.  The Fair's father was Foulques V ("the Younger") de Anjou, King of Jerusalem and his mother was Ermengarde du Maine.  His paternal grandparents were Count Foulques IV ("the Rude") de Anjou and Bertrade de Montfort; his maternal grandparents were Count Elias of Maine and Matilda de Chateau du Loire. He had a sister named Sybil.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 38 on September 7th, 1151 in Chateau du Loire, France.  He was buried in St. Julian's Church, Le Mans, Anjou.
